A WIRRAL charity for children with cerebral palsy has organised a cycling challenge to mark its 21st anniversary and raise vital funds.

The event, in aid of Stick'n'Step, is due to place on Sunday, September 17. Starting at Seacombe Ferry, there will be three route options to make it as inclusive as possible.

Participants can choose from a short children’s loop, which many children who attend Stick ‘n’ Step will be going around, a longer, more challenging six-mile route via New Brighton, or the longest 36.6-mile route via Parkgate, for over 14s only.

This cycle ride is a sponsored event but there is no minimum sponsorship to take part. There is a registration fee of £10 per adult and £5 per child, with all proceeds going towards funds for Stick ‘n’ Step. All entrants will receive a commemorative medal.

Stick ‘n’ Step provides free weekly conductive education sessions to children and young people with cerebral palsy up to the age of 25, allowing them to gain the skills they need to live more independent lives.

The charity relies on supporters and volunteers to help raise the £750,000 required to deliver its services to over 100 families each year at its Wallasey and Runcorn centres.
