A GP surgery in Wallasey has been voted the best medical centre in the Wirral by patients.

Grove Road Surgery was rated best for ‘overall experience’ of patients in the 2023 NHS patient survey.

Residents were asked for their opinion on a variety of elements with practices, from booking appointments, waiting times, out-of-hours services and the quality of care given.

The number of surveys completed varies from surgery to surgery, and does not represent every patient who is registered at any one centre. 

Of the patients who responded, 98 per cent said their overall experience was good or very good at the surgery on Grove Road.

In second place was Manor Health Centre in Liscard Village, which scored a satisfaction rating of 95 per cent.

And Paxton Medical Group on Park Rd North in Birkenhead clocked up a 94 per cent patient satisfaction score, ranking it in third place for GP surgeries.

Which GP surgeries were the worst in Wirral?

At the other end of the scale, Central Park Medical Centre in Wallasey finished bottom of the pile.

Only 55 per cent of patients said their overall experience of the surgery was good or very good.

And hovering just above was Prenton Medical Centre, where 57 per cent of patients were happy and Devaney Medical Centre who received 58 per cent.
