A WOMAN from Oxton has been named the second best bridal make-up artist in the North-West.
Lianne Wikberg started her career as a singer on cruise ships for 10 years, but after wanting to return home, she got into make-up.
After working with YSL and Chanel, she was made redundant during the pandemic and decided to become self-employed in bridal make-up.
Speaking to the Globe, she said: "I knew bridal was always the direction I wanted to go in and Covid pushed me to do what I was too scared to do."
In January, Lianne got her own studio, known as SKINsational in Bebington, and was named a finalist in the UK Hair and Beauty Awards in the Best Bridal Make-Up Award category.
On Friday (April 21), Lianne and her husband attended the UK Hair and Beauty Awards in Birmingham, with the event hosted by singer and actor Duncan James.
Lianne won second place for the North-West in her category which she said she "still can't believe".
"I was not expecting it at all. I genuinely never thought I'd win for a second," Lianne added.
"It still doesn't feel real. I still think it all could have been a dream."
