AS snow continues to fall across the borough and the cost-of-living crisis continues to rise, warm hubs are becoming increasingly popular among the local community.

Households and families struggling to pay their fuel bills this winter and may also be experiencing food poverty and social isolation warm spaces offer residents somewhere they can go to get warm and enjoy company while some offer warm drinks and food.

Wirral InfoBank has compiled a list of the warm hubs available to people across Wirral.

The warm hubs range from community hubs to churches to cafés.

Here is a list of warm hubs available across Wirral:

Warm up Community Hub – Core Project CIC

With the cost of living crisis and the cold moving in they will be open for the community on Thursdays for a free Community Hub Warm-up time. Pop in for a chat, get warm and have a free tea or coffee or a free bowl of soup with a roll - or just a slice of cake.

Warm Hub - St Mary's Church, Liscard 

St Mary's Church is a welcoming and inclusive church, whose members love God and have a heart for serving the community. We will be opening our church to be a Warm Hub every Wednesday from 10.30am to 1.30pm. There will be tea, coffee and soup.

Warm Hub – St Barnabas Church, Bromborough

St Barnabas Church is located in a vibrant village and aiming to serve the needs of Bromborough. The centre cafe is part of the church and is holding a warm hub each Monday through to Friday from 10am to 2pm.

Flourish Warm Hub - Flourish Wellbeing Hub at Victoria Central Hospital

Come to the cafe and have a warm drink in a safe, friendly environment. Worries about cost of living, or something else, we’re here to help with everyday issues. Warm up and have a chat.

Warm Hub – Church @ the Cross Birkenhead

Church at the Cross's warm Hub is open on Fridays from 11am to 3pm. Come and have some company and some soup. Come and have a chat or play some games. Bring a hobby or do some reading or colouring.

Blossom and Bloom Wellbeing Session – Our Happy Hub

Our Happy Hub is a charity in the community created by some like-minded ladies who have bonded over a passion for improving their mental well-being. We are continuing our Girls' session on alternate Saturdays named Blossom and Bloom. This is a drop in for 11 to 16-year-old girls from 11:30am to 2:30pm. Please along and join us.

Warm Hub – St Chad’s Church, Irby

St Chad's Church in Irby is holding a Warm space on Tuesday mornings starting on 6th December 2022 from 9am-12:30pm. Do come and join us.

Warm Hub – Invovle Northwest

Involve Northwest welcomes community members to use our winter warm hub as a place to relax or engage in various activities. A warm welcome awaits you and refreshments of hot drinks, biscuits and cakes are provided.

Warm Welcome Hub – YMCA Wirral

YMCA Wirral is opening a Warm Welcome Hub from January 25th 2023 every Wednesday from 10am to 3pm for anyone aged over 65 looking for warmth, friendship and company. There will be free refreshments and activities. No need to book please come along.

Warm Hub – Woodchurch Methodist Church

Woodchurch Methodist Church is opening its doors for a Warm Hub each Monday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 4pm.

Warm Space – St Alban’s Liscard

St Alban's Church serves the community alongside Our Lady Star of the Sea and St. Joseph, Seacombe. St Alban's Parish Centre Liscard is holding a warm hub every Monday - with food included.

Warm Hub – Birkenhead Salvation Army

Are you worried about turning on the Gas or Electricity at home? Feeling lonely? Not cooking for yourself? Why not come along to our warm & friendly Winter Warm Hub on a Tuesday starting 1st November? There will be people to chat to, activities, unlimited hot drinks and a hot meal. Supporting veterans and serving members of the armed forces, blue light emergency services, NHS and support staff.

Egremont Community Centre is an amazing group of people who run the community centre based at the Old Egremont Mission Building on Guildford Street. Warm Hub - Christ Church Moreton 

Christ Church is made up of many different people, and our services reflect those differences. We are holding a Warm Hub at the parish Centre on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 4pm.

Warm Space - St Andrew's Centre, Noctorum 

Join us at St Andrew's Centre for a warm space provided for everybody on Mondays and Thursdays from 2pm to 5pm.

Warm Hub - Heswall URC, Heswall 

Heswall United Reformed Church is opening its doors to a Warm Hub each Wednesday afternoon. From 2pm to 5pm everyone is welcome to come and be in a warm, safe space. There will be free tea and coffee available.

Warm Hubs - St Oswald's Church Bidston 

St Oswald's Church is holding a free warm hub on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. Everyone is welcome to relax in a warm and welcoming environment among friends old and new.

Warm Hub - Wake Up Wallasey CIC

The Warm Hub will be a space for anyone seeking warmth and company over the winter season. It will be open from 2:30-4:30 every day from Tuesday to Friday in the church building.

Warm Hub - St Joseph's Church, Seacombe 

St Joseph Church is opening a warm space every Friday from 10am to 2pm. Refreshments will be available throughout.

Warm Hub - Coffee Roast at Vale House

The Coffee Roast at Vale House is now open as a warm hub on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Warm Space - Christ Church Hall, Port Sunlight

Christ Church at Port Sunlight are opening a Warm Space on Tuesdays from 9am to 12 noon in the Church Hall from January 17th 2023. On offer will be a warm space with free hot drinks and toast, arts and crafts activities, free WiFi, books and games and an opportunity to meet new and old friends.

Warm Place - Emmanuel Church, New Brighton 

Emmanuel Church in New Brighton is holding a Warm Place on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 11am to 3pm. There will be hot drinks and friendship in abundance. Please join us.

Warm Hub - Moreton Baptist Church

Moreton Baptist Church is a lively and friendly church for all ages. We hope you will experience the love of Jesus not just on Sundays but every day of the week. We are holding A welcoming space for everyone to keep warm this winter. We are currently open term time only on Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm and Fridays from 9am to 11 am. Come and join us for a hot drink, a bite to eat and a chat. It is free.

Warm Space - Moreton Methodist Church 

Moreton Methodist Church is holding a warm space on Wednesdays from 9:30am with Breakfast toasties along with hot drinks. From midday lunch which will usually be soup is provided. There is always someone to talk to. Papers are provided and table puzzles are around to test the mind.

Community Hub - Hebron Evengelical Church, Liscard

Hebron Church in Liscard is holding a warm space each Tuesday from 10am to 12 noon. There will be tea and coffee, with snacks and activities.

Warm Hub - Claremount Road Methodist Church 

Claremount Road Methodist Church provides a warm hub on Thursdays and Fridays. Please come along there is no referral needed.

Warm Welcome Space - Liberty Church Wirral 

We are providing free hot drinks and a meal each week. We are part of a wider network of churches and organisations providing a safe, warm space for our communities.

Warm Hub - St James, New Brighton

Coffee Morning - St Mark's Church New Ferry

We're opening our doors every Friday morning this winter, inviting anyone to enjoy a free cup of tea or coffee in a space which warm, welcoming and safe. All welcome - please come along.

Seacombe United Reformed Church is holding a warm Hub on Tuesdays from 10am to 2pm. This is free to all and please come along.

Winter Warmer - Beechwood Chapel

It's getting colder and heating costs are through the roof, so we're opening up the Chapel for people to come in and keep warm. Everyone is welcome. We're also working with some of the other groups in the community to try to provide a warm space every day, keep an eye out for more info on that soon. A free drop-in space to keep warm this winter. Pop in any time for warmth, refreshments and company.

Warm Space - St Andrew's Church 

We are offering a Warm Space at St Andrew's Church Hall (Highcroft Avenue, Bebington) on Thursday mornings, 9am to 12 noon, starting on 3rd November. All are welcome - refreshments, newspapers, jigsaws, books, games, warmth and company are all provided free.
