A GARDEN in Burton, which donates all of its profits to charity and is run by volunteers, is hosting a 'Snowdrop Festival' across February.

Briarfield Gardens, located at The Rake, Burton, is taking part in the National Gardens Scheme.

The two-acre garden is on two sites, a short walk along an unmade lane. It features trees, shrubs, colourful herbaceous, bulbs, alpines and water features.

Elizabeth Carter, owner of Briarfield Garden, said: "This year I’m celebrating 32 years with the National Garden Scheme.

"It all started by joining Burton Village Gardens then it gradually expanded to Briarfield garden opening on its own, plus taking groups by appointment and selling plants every Friday through the growing season.

"Sharing my garden with others is a large and enjoyable part of my life."

Elizabeth lives at the house where the plant sale is in Burton.
