WIRRAL’S talented knitters have returned with their brilliant creations in a tribute for Remembrance Day.

Community members have “yarn bombed” post boxes across the borough by crocheting Remembrance Day toppers to remember fallen soldiers who gave their lives fighting.

The impressive show of remembrance can be spotted in different locations across Wirral.

The Globe has rounded up a list so you can visit the impressive crafty creations.

Sandra Birch created her "Tommy Topper" which features an impressive display of hand-crocheted poppies around a soldier's head. It can be found on Harrison Drive in New Brighton.

Sandra told the Globe: "My Tommy Remberance Tribute took me about a month to crochet and create.

"My first topper was a Remembrance Day one I did a year ago. It all started to make people remember to give generously to such a great cause.

"I used to crochet hundreds of poppies and sell them at work but now I'm retired I wanted to so something else to help.

"I put initials on Tommy to honour relatives that lost their lives - FWB & JA.

"The public's reaction to Tommy online and off is amazing. When I was putting him out I'm normally there 20 minutes tops but I was there for over two hours as the number of passers-by stopping to thank me was even more emotional than last year.

"It was amazing the number of cars beeping and putting thumbs up. We will remember them."
