FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze that destroyed the roof of a derelict house near Leasowe Lightouse last night.
Firefighters were called to an incident at around 5.50pm and on scene at 5.55pm.
Seven fire engines attended to ensure efficient water supply.
On arrival, crews found a fire in the roof space of the brick building, which was on land due to open as a caravan park in the autumn.
Firefighters left the scene at 10.45pm. The cause of the blaze is not known.
