Wirral Globe:

Jessica Williams refused to give up on her dream of going to university after not securing the A Levels needed for a place the first-time round.

Jessica found her ideal stepping stone on the Access to Higher Education Psychology and Mental Health course, which she completed in 2021. It’s since allowed her to progress on to a degree, with two years at the college followed by a final two years at the University of Liverpool.

Jessica said: “This was hands down the best decision I have ever made! It gave me a new lease of life and a purpose; I knew I needed to do well for my child and partner for our future"

“This course enabled me to gain the equivalent to three A Levels and I am now studying on a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree at Wirral Met.”

It’s not too late to apply. Applications for university level and Access courses are still open for September 2022. Visit Wirral Met’s website for more information.
