A GROUP of young girls in Neston are decorating and hiding pebbles for people in the community to find.

Deanna Saint, 55, runs 1st Neston Rainbows with Sara Jellicoe and Dawn Massey.

Rainbows is for girls aged four to seven. It is all about developing self-confidence, building friendships, learning new things and having fun.

The group of girls do arts and crafts, try out cooking and play games.

Deanna came across the group 'Wirral Rocks' on Facebook, which encourages you to 'Find a rock, paint and hide it for others to discover and share your pics.'

In one of Rainbows groups meetings, which take place on a Monday in the Jubilee Hut in Little Neston from 5.45pm to 6.45pm, the girls decorated lots of pebbles.

Deanna said: "The idea was the girls hid the pebbles around for each other to find. I'm hoping others get involved and anybody that finds one goes onto our Facebook page.

"It's getting the word out now that the pebbles are there. More pebbles have already been decorated for me to put out."

Pebbles can be found in locations such as Wirral Way, Woodford Park, Stanney Park and West Vale.

Speaking about Rainbows, Deanna told the Globe how they are always looking for new people to get involved and join.

She said: "Guiding is great fun and open to all ages from four. We are also always looking for volunteers to help at our units so visit our website to register your interest."
