WIRRAL Council has issued a final call for any eligible residents who haven't applied for their council tax energy rebate payment to do so as soon as possible.
The application window will close on August 31 to ensure all payments are processed by 30th September, as required by the government.
A council statement read: "To date, more than 80% of eligible residents have received their payments, with other applicants currently having their applications processed.
"The team are working through these applications as quickly as possible to process payments.
"The council is keen to stress than no resident will lose their entitlement to the payment - any rebate still unclaimed by the end of September will be transferred to the Council Tax Account relating to the eligible property.
"This can then either used to offset future payments or can be refunded outside of the government's timeframe.
"However, in order to receive the payment at the earliest opportunity, all remaining eligible recipients are urged to apply online if possible."
People need their Council Tax Reference Number and Property reference number.
Full details and applications can be found here: https://www.wirral.gov.uk/council-tax/%C2%A3150-energy-payment
The council does have a limited number of customer service staff available to assist residents with completing the application process - details of how to contact them are available on the above webpage.
