VETERAN Hoylake musician Al Peters and his 'Bluesmen' - Leigh Marles and Gordon Logan - will be joined by special guests for a 'Blues and country' afternoon at Fort Perch Rock in New Brighton this weekend.

Taking place at the iconic venue on Sunday, the show will also feature performances from special guests Mark Pountney - with his tribute to the late American country rock legend Gram Parsons - and award-winning, critically-acclaimed Wirral singer/songwriter Susan Hedges headlining.

Art for sale

AN auction of original art is at New Brighton Community Centre this weekend. It takes place at the venue on Hope Street in Wallasey on Saturday. Proceeds will go towards the sustainability and keeping of the art class. There will be a viewing of art from 10am to noon and an auction from 1 to 2pm.
