RESIDENTS are being warned of bin collection changes in Wirral as high temperatures are set to hit this week.

The Met Office has predicted highs of up to 30C across the borough from Thursday, August 11.

Due to the warmer weather, Wirral Council has confirmed it is due to make changes to its bin collections times.

In a bid to keep staff members out of the heat, crews will start their collections earlier than usual on Thursday, August 11 and Friday, August 12.

The council has asked householders to ensure they have their bins out in their usual place before 6.30am on collection day.

A spokesperson for Wirral Council told the Globe: “Due to the high temperatures forecast, crews will be starting bin collections earlier than usual on Thursday and Friday this week (11 and 12 August).

“Please ensure you have your bins out in their usual place before 6.30am on their collection day so that crews can empty them.”
