TWO youths from Ellesmere Port have followed in their parents footsteps by opening their own 'yard sale' business outside their home.

Carina Powelson, 31, and her partner Lee English, 43, from Ellesmere Port, both recently started their own new businesses.

Lee has set up a vehicle transport company, while Carina has set up a wax melt company while she on is maternity leave.

Two of their children, Keleigh, 12, and Jessie, 9, took inspiration from this and wanted to sell some of their old toys to earn some extra money over the summer holidays.

The girls cleared through the garage and put all of their unwanted toys outside their front house to sell to locals and asked Carina to put it on her Facebook.

While Carina's two older children went out and did some car washing in the local community.

Carina told the Globe: "Neither me nor Lee have had our own businesses before, so I think the kids have taken a shine to it and want to do their own thing to."

After Carina posted the picture of the yard sale on Facebook Keleigh and Jessie have had many customers.

Residents walking their dogs in the Rivacre Valley area have bought items such as a princess castle, a barbie plane and some books.

Carina added: "One gentleman walking his dog said he had a granddaughter and went home and then came back with a £20 note asking what he could buy with it."

The girls are going to continue to try and sell their toys and are planning to make the yard sale an annual summer holiday tradition.
