A POLICE officer has been advising drivers in Wirral after reports of road users disregarding a one-way system.
Constable Sproston has been actively enforcing the road rules following concerns of drivers driving out of Reedville Road onto Slatey Road in Oxton.
This afternoon, Thursday, August 4, a car disobeying the one-way system was stopped by Constable Sproston.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “As the dedicated officer for Oxton, Constable Sproston has been actively enforcing a one-way system after concerns of road users driving out of Reedville Road out of Slatey Road, Oxton contravening of the one way system.
“A vehicle today was stopped by the officer doing just this but, on this occasion, advice was issued to the driver who was a lady of 86 who was confused and lost.
“Advice given about causing danger to other road users by not being aware of the road signs.
“The officer will continue to enforce this issue to prevent a head on collision and possible injury to others.”
