EMERGENCY services were deployed to an incident in New Brighton after an elderly woman was reported missing.

The 70-year-old woman was reported missing at around 3.35pm on Saturday, July 30 after she was last seen on New Brighton front by Fort Perch Rock.  

Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service, and HM Coastguards attended the incident to help search for the woman.

A police helicopter was also spotted in the New Brighton area.

A spokesperson for Maritime and Coastguard Agency told the Globe: HM Coastguard sent rescue teams from Wirral, Crosby and Flint to assist police with the search for a woman on Saturday afternoon (July 30).

“She was found and taken into police care on Saturday evening.”

A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service said: “One fire engine was sent to the scene.

“Fire crews stood by awaiting further instruction from partner agencies.

“MFRS was stood down following the location of the individual by police.

“We were on scene from 2.36pm until 5.02pm.”

Merseyside Police confirmed the woman was located a short time later.
