A travelling community has set up camp on land near a Wirral school this afternoon after being moved on from fields near a residential area in Woodchurch this morning.
More than 10 mobile homes have been parked on land running alongside on Carr Bridge Road since the weekend.
A council spokesperson confirmed that the authority was aware of the situation and that officers had visited the site with police this morning.
They have now set up camp on a field backing onto Holy Spirit RC Primary School in Leasowe.
A council spokesperson said: “We are aware of an unauthorised encampment on council land to the rear of Holy Spirit primary school in Leasowe.
"The council is in the process of taking the necessary legal action to require those involved to move on.”
