GLOBE readers are being asked to come up with the purr-fect name for one of the star attractions at Eureka! Science + Discovery in Seacombe.

The 12-foot cat has found its new home in the visitor attraction at Seacombe Ferry Terminal, which opens later this year and aims to inspire a new generation of young scientists and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) enthusiasts, aged 6-14.

Although the exhibits and interactive experiences are top secret at the moment, more than 120 young 'co-creators' from the region have been involved in designing them with the help of local communities and partners across the Liverpool City Region, including Ørsted, Unilever, Alder Hey Children's Hospital and Liverpool John Moores University.

Eureka!'s chief executive, Leigh-Anne Stradeski said: "We want to get young people more excited about science and technology, helping to encourage them to explore and fall in love with STEAM subjects."

The £11.4m attraction has been funded by several partners, including a £6.4m grant from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Strategic Investment Fund.

Other key funders include Wirral Council, with the attraction playing a key part in extensive regeneration plans to revitalise Birkenhead, its iconic waterfront and the Left Bank area.

If you can think of a name for the cat, visit Eureka! Science + Discovery’s Facebook or Twitter pages and leave a comment.

The top six shortlisted names will be put to a public vote on Monday, August 15. and whoever's name in chosen will win a free family annual pass for Eureka! Science + Discovery.
