USING only the finest Italian ingredients, it’s no surprise that Forza Pizza Bar has taken the Best Pizza in Wirral crown.
The West Kirby restaurant has all the bases covered when it comes to the Italian classic and its pasta and ravioli dishes are just as popular.
Each week, we have been focusing on different categories to find the best that Wirral has to offer with 11 awards for hair, nails, beauty, pubs and independent shop being given out as well as fish and chips, pies, breakfast, afternoon tea and roast dinner already decided.
Voting is currently taking place in the latest round of the competition with the award for Best Beer Garden up for grabs with a closing date of midnight on Monday.
Next up was the cheesy Italian classic and Forza Pizza Bar took top spot after loyal customers bought copies of The Wirral Globe and emailed photos of the coupon – each email is worth five votes!
Customers describe Forza, which opened in November 2018, as a “lovely place with beautiful food” with “amazing chefs interacting as they cook”.
Owner Shane Egan has always been a fan of all things Italian – food and wine – and opened the popular establishment on Grange Road as his first business venture hoping to replicate the Italian style of informal eating experiences for everyone.
The hardworking team of six staff have been at the restaurant since day one as have many loyal customers who return for a slice of pizza or serving of fresh pasta regularly.
Forza’s most popular pizza is the diavolo – spicy style sauce – but there are 20 different pizzas on the menu together with two weekly specials – customers are spoilt for choice.
Everything is made fresh each day with high quality Italian ingredients.
Chefs follow a strict dough recipe that is left to prove for 48 hours and they use Caputo Italian flour and San Marzano tomatoes along with the finest burrata and fior di latte cheeses.
Shane said: “We are very grateful to our loyal customers, many of whom have supported us since our first night and keep coming back – repeat custom is the key to a successful business.
“Our staff have also been here since the start and this award is in recognition of everyone’s hard work over the past four years.”
Forza is open seven days a week offering dine in options as well as takeaway and delivery services on their extensive menu.
