AN EX-navy ship was spotted on the River Mersey being towed to Cammell Laird.

On Sunday, July 17, Ship Fort Rosalie, now named ENS Abu Simbel, was seen being towed over by tugs VB Elbe, Phoenix, Sandon, and Belgie.

Ship Rosalie arrived at the cruise terminal yesterday afternoon after leaving Birkenhead Dock.

After spending the night at the terminal, the ship was then towed over to Cammell Laird to have its new name and number painted on.

The ship, which has been docked at Birkenhead Docks for numerous years, is set to join the Egyptian Navy.
