A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a collision on the M53 Southbound slipway at junction two (Moreton Spur) earlier this evening, (Sunday July 17).

At around 7.25pm on Sunday, emergency services were called to Junction 2, at the entrance to the southbound carriageway, to reports that a white and silver Suzuki motorbike was in collision with a barrier.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, passed away at the scene.

His family have been informed. An investigation is underway, including CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries.

Officers closed the M53 in both directions around junction 2, including the Moreton Spur.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area while the incident is ongoing.
