THE Manor is Greasby is set for a new lease of life as a gastropub and wedding venue after it was taken on by Nelson Hotels and Inns.

The group, behind popular venues such as The Pheasant Inn at Burwardsley, The Fishpool Inn at Delamere, The Bear’s Paw in Warmingham and the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa at Pulford just outside Chester, are looking to accommodate up to 160 diners when they open this winter.

According to the new owners, they are set to “offer new life to the 17th century building and combine local heritage with contemporary hospitality” with The Manor providing a “quality dining and sought-after events space to residents of the Wirral and beyond”.

The site will also include a luxurious wedding barn for celebrations of up to 80 guests.

“The restaurant menu will focus on a marriage of traditional British gastropub fayre and refined inspiration from European cuisine,” said a spokesperson for Nelson Hotel and Inns. “The talented kitchen team, chosen to execute the group’s commitment to quality, will craft a daily-changing menu to incorporate the finest local and seasonal produce. From British gastropub staples to the Nelson family’s famous handcrafted pies and oven-fired artisan pizzas, there will be a dish for every taste on offer.

“The gastropub’s interior will feature rich tones and comfortable furnishings, whilst the charm of the English country garden will be harnessed in the beautifully airy conservatory. In keeping with the group’s dog-friendly offerings, four-legged friends will be as welcome in the new pub as their owners and catered for with their very own dog menu.”

Director of Nelson Hotels and Inns, Andrew Nelson, said: “We are excited to share our tried and tested recipe of high-quality food, drink and service with Greasby and are really looking forward to welcoming guests from near and far to see what we have in store.”

The Manor at Greasby is expected to open to guests this winter.
