MERSEY Ferries has announced a week of activity to celebrate half term and the Platinum Jubilee weekend in honour of The Queen’s historic 70-year reign.

In 1977, The Queen and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh visited Mersey Ferries as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations.

The royal couple, pictured with Captain James McWilliam, took a cruise along the River Mersey on the ferry and were shown the iconic views of the Liverpool and Wirral skylines.

Mersey Ferries is pushing the boat out for Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations with extended sailing hours over the Platinum Jubilee bank holiday and live commentary from Blue Badge Guides on selected River Explorer Cruise sailings.
