COULD you give baby Bonnie the forever home she is hoping for?

The eight-month-old Belgian Shepherd cross Dutch Herder - being cared for by staff at Dogs Trust Merseyside - is described as a "beautiful baby".

A spokesperson for the animal welfare charity said Bonnie "is still so young, so will need dedicated owners to help her learn and grow. She is packed with potential, she is a mix of two very intelligent and active breeds, so she could really blossom with the right family by her side.

"Bonnie is always full of beans; she loves heading out for walks and going on adventures.

"Her favourite activity is playing fetch and she will play until she's exhausted. Alongside playing, she does really enjoy human company and affection too.

"As well as keeping Bonnie entertained with lots of exercise, she will want to engage in lots of brain training games to keep her mentally stimulated too, which shouldn’t be replaced by exercise."

Wirral Globe:

Bonnie (pictured, above) has so far been undersocialised and isn’t too sure of how to act around other dogs.

Once her new family has built a bond with her, gentle and proper introductions to suitable, well-mannered dog friends is recommended, but at Bonnie’s pace.

Due to her currently being undersocialised, she would be best suited to being the only pet in the home.

Whilst Bonnie is learning how to make dog friends, she would benefit from a home with no neighbouring dogs. Bonnie is a real sweetheart, and she adores people. She is able to live with children aged eleven and over.

Georgina Lowery, Dogs Trust Merseyside Manager, said: "Bonnie is only a baby and has struggled with settling into life at the centre.

"She really needs a loving, committed family who can put some time and effort into helping her learn how great life can be with some guidance.

"She’s super energetic, so will need a family who is able to keep up with her! Most importantly, she is hoping for a place she can call home, with a family that adores her as much as she will adore them.”
