THE quick thinking of police and firefighters saved a dog's life during a fire at a house in Tranmere.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service were called to the incident on Holt Road by police at around 3pm on Tuesday (April 19). Three fire engines attended.
On arrival crews found a fire in a brick outbuilding at the rear of the building.
Firefighters used hose reel jets and the fire was extinguished by 3.44pm and left the scene at 4.33pm.
During a check for residents, firefighters managed to save a 13-week-old frenchie bull dog.

A Teambeb facebook post read: "With the quick thinking of officers working alongside Merseyside fire and rescue service the fire was extinguished before it could take a hold onto neighbouring properties.
"Heskie the frenchie is now doing fine".
