AN estate agent in Greasby has arranged a community vigil to show support with Ukraine.

Jones and Chapman estate agents will host a two-minute silence where residents are welcomed to light a candle in remembrance of Ukrainians fighting for their lives.

The vigil will take place on Friday, March 11 from 6.30pm outside Jones and Chapman in Greasby.

Olivia Gosling, a sales negotiator at Jones and Chapman who has helped arrange the vigil told the Globe: “We will do a two-minute silence to create space for people to have a moment to remember Ukrainians who have nothing at the moment and are fighting for their life and freedom.

“We’re only a local agent but we really believe during these times we can make a difference with the support of our community coming together and taking a moment to remember and support the Ukrainians.”

The meet up will be from 6.30pm and the silence will start at 7pm where residents will be invited to turn on torches or light a candle in solidarity.

After the two-minute silence, Olivia and her colleagues will welcome members of the public to lead prayers or sing songs in support of Ukrainian families.

The vigil comes after a massive donation effort from Jones and Chapman who spent last week collecting item donations from residents across the borough to send to Ukrainian families and children.

The donations collected were sent to the polish border where they were given to families and children in Ukraine.
