A man was threatened with a knife before having his mountain bike stolen by two men.

Police are appealing for information after the robbery of a bike in Bromborough on Wednesday, January 5.

At around 4.15pm police received a report that a man cycling along Stadium Road, at the back of Croft Business Park, in the direction of Eastham Village was approached by two men on a motorbike.

The men threatened the victim with a knife and stole his blue and black Cube stereo 29er mountain bike.

They were then reported to have made off on the motorbike towards the Birkenhead tunnel.

No injuries were reported and no weapon was seen.

CCTV and witness enquiries to locate the suspects are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact police.

Detective Inspector Phil Ryan said: “This was a disgraceful incident and we are working to find the persons responsible and remove them from our streets.

“If you were in the Bromborough area last Wednesday and witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious then please let us know.

“If you have seen the bike described for sale locally then please come forward and we will do the rest.

“Similarly if you were driving in the area and have dashcam footage, please review it and if you see anything, get in touch. Information you hold could be vital to our enquiries.
