TICKETS are on sale for two classical candle-lit concerts in Wirral this advent. Wirral Chamber Music festival is bringing world-class musicians to small venues in Hoylake and Thornton Hough.

The concerts include Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, performed by Thelma Handy, festival director and leader of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

Carols for MNDA charity

SHOPPERS in Neston will have the chance to both listen to carol singers and donate to a very worthy cause at the same time on Friday.

The Neston Singers will be performing for half an hour from 10am in Sainsbury’s supermarket and again at 11am and members of the Wirral Group of the Motor Neurone Disease Association will be holding a bucket collection.

Christmas Alphabet

A FESTIVE concert featuring Lilli Moore, Phil Longstaffe-Smith and guests is at Melrose Hall in Hoylake this Saturday (December 11).

Christmas Alphabet takes place at the venue on Melrose Avenue, Hoylake at 7-30pm that night.

Model railway

WIRRAL O Gauge Model Railway’s Open Day is this Sunday (December 12) from 11am to 4pm.

A BOOK fair will be held in the Panoramic Lounge of New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion this Saturday.

Community plots

DO you know of a community group, church, charity or school whose members/pupils would benefit from improved health and wellbeing through doing gardening activities in the fresh air?

If so, the Friends of Birkenhead Park, who look after the Edward Kemp Community Garden and Growing Area in Birkenhead Park, may be able to help. Due to Covid, a few of the site’s plot holders have had to give up their plots, meaning there are three 5m x 5m plots available.

WIRRAL Singing Cafe is open at a new venue - Heswall Hall - every Thursday, from 10.30am to midday.

It is for anyone who likes singing or listening to live music from the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s.

Christmas show

WEST Kirby Musical Theatre Company will stage Sing a Song of Christmas, a concert full of Christmas music on Wednesday, December 15 and Thursday, December 16 at Heswall Hall.

Also appearing are dancers from Wallasey School of Ballet.
