A woman turned her lockdown depression into a business success after opening a crystal shop in Liscard.
In October 2020, Natalie Speed said she was faced with stress and depression while working in a high-pressure job in social care alongside dealing with family trauma.
Natalie began buying crystals after learning about their healing properties and started doing daily spiritual exercises with them such as meditation, breathwork and intention setting.
Natalie told the Globe: “For a number of personal reasons, the pandemic and lockdowns were particularly difficult for me. I’d pretty much hit rock bottom.
“I’ve always had a connection with crystals, but I truly discovered their powers during this time — the calming energy they give off when holding them and doing daily practices with them basically saved me from going under.”
Natalie began collecting until she had more than 3,000 crystals in her collection which led her to selling some online.
As demand grew, Natalie said she realised the potential of her online crystal business and set out to create a shop where she could sell face to face and offer holistic therapy.
She became qualified in crystal healing, quantum holographic echo healing and reiki and in July 2020 she opened Majestic Crystals & Creations on Seaview Road.
Natalie said: “What started as a crystal collection to help me through really dark times has manifested into a business that has surpassed all my expectations.
“The feedback has been amazing and people leave here feeling like a new person — whether they buy crystals, have crystal healing, a treatment or even just come in for a chat. The door is open to everyone.”
She added: “Crystals have changed my life and it’s my mission to show as many people as possible their healing powers — especially when you combine them with daily practises.”
