WARRINGTON, among many towns and cities across the country, has had its fair share of damage and disruption from Storm Arwen.

The Met Office had issued weather warnings overnight and in the early hours of Saturday, with parts of the country seeing 100mph gales.

The weather warning came into force in the north west on 9am yesterday, Friday, and will remain in place through to 6pm this evening.

Since the storm hit the town yesterday, residents have reported numerous trees being uprooted, blocking roads and damaging vehicles.
