Can you help Defa find his new home?

The eight-year-old crossbreed has found himself back at Dogs Trust Merseyside due to a change in his family's circumstances, eight years after he was first rehomed by the team as a young pup.

Now, they say, as well as having grown up to be a handsome boy, he is a friendly, affectionate dog who loves to be out and about, especially if it involves playing on the beach.

Georgina Lowery, manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, said: "Defa has obviously been a much-loved dog and he will make a perfect family pet.

"Although we think he's best suited to being the only dog in his new home, he could live with secondary school children. He isn’t a fan of cats, so no felines please!

"He likes to take a little time to get to know people and new environments, and he loves a good sniff, but once he's familiarised himself with wherever he is he and whoever is alongside him, he loves a fuss to be made of him."

Defa likes to head out in the car for a day trip, but will be happy to relax at home on his own for a couple of hours once he has settled in.

If you think you could give Defa the forever home he deserves, go to www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming to start the virtual adoption process. Dogs Trust Merseyside holds Information Days every Sunday. If you would like to take a tour of the centre, meet members of the team and see the dogs spending time with their canine carers, please go to www.dogstrust.org.uk/ourcentres to book a place.
