BENJI is on the lookout for a new home.

The two-year-old Shar Pei is a quiet boy but as he gets to know the team at Dogs Trust Merseyside, he is starting to show his true personality and definitely has a giddy side.

He loves heading out on walks, particularly if there are great places to sniff and walks calmly on the lead so is a joy to take out.

He likes to take a little time to get to know you but once he does, he is happy to be made a fuss of.

Georgina Lowery, Dogs Trust Merseyside Manager, said: "Benji is a lovely boy looking for a loving home where, as the only dog, he can lap up all the love on offer from his new family.

"He loves to play with toys and gets very playful so he would benefit from a little bit of positive reward-based training so that he learns all four paws on the ground is always best!"

Benji is happy to walk alongside other calm, friendly dogs but is less sure how to be with them when he’s off the lead so his owners will need to help him build his confidence.

He is happy to be left alone for a couple of hours and can live with children aged 14 and over.

He would like a feline free home as he isn't a lover of cats!

If you think you could give Benji the forever home he deserves, please go to www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming to start the virtual adoption process. Dogs Trust Merseyside holds Information Days every Sunday. If you would like to take a tour of the centre, meet members of the team and see the dogs spending time with their canine carers, please go to www.dogstrust.org.uk/ourcentres to book a place.
