A homeware wholesaler in Bromborough has opened a new coffee shop serving locally sourced food and drink.

Inspirations Wholesale on Old Hall Road, known for its trendy décor and homeware, has started a new business venture, Leaf and Vine Ltd.

Jason Evans, General Manager at Inspirations said, opening a coffee shop was a way for the business to “give back” to their customers.

“When lockdown happened, our hearts were in our mouths and it was panic stations if we were going to survive as a business,” he told the Globe.

“We would always get asked regularly by customers why we didn’t have a coffee shop and that we should get one so we said to ourselves when we get out of this, we should really do what our customers have always asked and open a coffee shop.”

Jason said work began straight away on building the shop despite the uncertainty of the pandemic.

He said: “We’ve been here for nearly 12 years, so we wanted to bounce back with something new and exciting to share with everybody, so we decided to just go for it.

“At times I thought to myself what am I doing jumping into the hospitality trade when it’s the industry that’s being hit the worst. It seemed like a crazy idea at the time.”

Jason said it was important for Leaf and Vine to serve quality food and drink which was locally sourced.

“We have an exclusive coffee blend and a roaster on the Wirral who is our supply chain, our meat and vegetables come from Muffs Butchers in Bromborough, and we supply cheese cakes from a start-up company in the North West,” he said.

He added: “The reality is we wouldn’t been here without local people. We got through Covid because of the Wirral so opening this coffee shop is for the community that came together to support us.”

“We wanted a place where everyone could come and meet friends and catch up somewhere nice. It’s really quite special to be honest and we’re proud of it.”
