October officially marks the start of spooky season and with Halloween just around the corner many will be looking for a fun family day out.

So whether pumpkin soup is your speciality, you’re looking for a festive autumnal display or perhaps just fancy carving your own, pumpkin picking is always a popular choice for those looking to celebrate this spooktacular time of year.

The Globe have rounded up the best pumpkin patches you can go along to in Wirral to choose your very own pumpkins.

Claremont Farm, Bebington

Situated in Bebington on Old Clatterbridge Road, Claremont Farm is open 10.00am-4pm every day throughout the month of October.

You don’t need to book and there is no entry fee to pick your own pumpkins.

Pumpkins are priced by their weight (£1/kg) and average between £2 and £4.

Church Farm Events Ltd, Thurstaston

From the 2nd to 31st October Church Farm puts on their Family Fright Festival.

Children under two go free and family passes can be purchased for £24 for a full day or £20 for half a day.

Festival-goers can enjoy tractor and train rides, scarecrow trials, animal feeding, sheep racing and of course pumpkin picking.

Vineyard Farm, Birkenhead

Open Monday to Saturday from 9.00am till 5pm and 10am till 5pm on Sundays, Vineyard Farm have ready to pick pumpkins, squashes and marrows.

Pumpkins are priced at £1 per kilo with an upper limit of £10.

“Well behaved” dogs are also allowed to join in with the family fun as long as they are on a lead.

Little Al’s Urban Farm, Eastham

As well as pumpkin picking and carving, Little Al’s are also offering a week off spooktacular activities for all the family.

From Monday 25th to Sunday 31st October people can visit their scary house on the howling hill for £5 or take part in a safe trick or treating for £6.50.
