This weekend saw more than 1,200 people take part in Wirral's Race For Life in Birkenhead Park which raised more than £90,000 for Cancer Research.

On Saturday the charity's Pretty Muddy event kicked off the fundraiser weekend from 11am until midday.

The event saw people of all ages and abilities crawling through mud and over various obstacles to help raise much-needed funds for cancer research.

On Sunday, the Race for Life events kicked off at 11:00am with residents taking their pick of a 3k, 5k or 10k race.

Wirral's Lord Mayor, George Davies, was also in attendance to set off the participants.

Race For Life Events Manager, Sarah Glendenning-Laycock, said: "The event was a huge success and was well received by the people of Wirral.

"I want to thank everyone who took park in the event but also thank everyone who came down to support our participants and the charity.

"Our volunteers do need a shout out for being absolutely fantastic. Our events just can’t run without them so to those that volunteered their time and services."

We reached out to our readers asking them to send in their best photographs from the day and here's how it went...
