THE team behind the new state-of-the-art Eastham Pavilion is gearing up for a fun-packed summer of events.

The new, multi-million pound clubhouse, home to Anselmians Rugby Club, is hailed as one of the finest sporting venues on Wirral with capacity for over 200 guests in its architect designed celebration space, bar and restaurant.

The club's ten-year project to improve its player and community facilities was completed earlier this year following a major funding deal.

Club director Jim McKenzie said the team is "raring to go" with a packed calendar of events for the rest of the year.

He added: "After years of fundraising we finally realised our dream of building a state-of-the-art clubhouse and events venue which was completed back in spring of last year.

"We were poised to open, but then the pandemic hit and all of our plans were put on ice.

"We can't wait to showcase what we have done with the site and look forward to welcoming guests old and new to our exciting events over the summer and beyond."

Wirral Globe:

With a packed calendar of events in place for the summer months including a launch dinner, charity golf day, glamorous summer ball and full-on, three day beer festival, there really will be a celebration to suit every taste.

Situated in the heart of Eastham village, the stunning wrap around grounds and newly surfaces pitches provide the perfect backdrop for the new Clubhouse.

With floor to ceiling windows in the first floor events space and bar, the whole place is flooded with light and the huge glass balcony is the perfect spot for a summer tipple whilst enjoying the views out beyond the historic St Mary's church and beyond.

Along with running their own exciting schedule of events, the clubhouse is also available to hire for private events including weddings, birthdays and corporate functions.

The cosy restaurant comes complete with its own fireplace and the quirky bar, made entirely from reclaimed wood makes you feel more like you are in a city centre bar than a rugby club.

Club director Jim McKenzie said that both members and visitors are loving the new space: "We've had fantastic feedback so far from our guests.

"It's a fantastic new facility both for Eastham and the Wirral and we can't wait to show you what we have done.

"I think it's important to say that 2021 represents a landmark year for Anselmians and it has all been made possible by the generous and ongoing support of our members and corporate supporters."

COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions delayed improvements to Eastham-based Anselmians RUFC's work on a high-end event space and community hub.

West Kirby-based Bathgate Business Finance specialist secured the £100,000 funding needed to complete the project.

Ben Humphreys from Bathgate Business Finance said earlier this year: "It’s been great to be able to help get this project over the line.

"The new buildings look fantastic, they’re providing world-class facilities for the local community and the club is also bringing new jobs to the area.

"We're happy to hear that there is already a raft of events booked for 2021 and beyond, including business networking events that we’re looking forward to supporting, and we wish the club all the best for its upcoming launch events."
