Wallasey PGA golfer John Singleton is challenging players to put their skills to the test by joining this year’s WUTH Charity Golf Event to raise funds to help Arrowe Park Hospital’s Neonatal Unit and its ‘Tiny Stars’ fundraising appeal.

The event takes place at Carden Park on September 15 and will raise funds for the unit, which cares for very poorly premature babies.

John said: “I am very proud to be supporting the WUTH Charity Golf Event at Carden Park on Wednesday 15th September.

"Being from the Wirral, Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge Hospitals are so important to me and the Wirral community - I would like to do what I can to give back to them.

"I met the team whilst I was receiving care as a patient and the work they are doing for the Tiny Stars Appeal is so important. I am really happy to get involved and support however I can."

Wirral Globe:

Teams in the 4 ball event will play at the prestigious Carden Park Cheshire Course. First prize is a 4 ball golf weekend courtesy of Club Choice Ireland.

Entry fee is £400 per team and all funds raised will go towards the Tiny Stars Neonatal Appeal. The event has had some fantastic support from local companies including Lower Farm holiday cottages, The Locket Hair and Beauty and Merseyside Industrial Supplies.

The event starts with a breakfast roll, courtesy of Wirral Health Unison, before a two tee start for the 18-hole tournament. The event ends with a two course meal, with the prize giving and a raffle.

Jo Roberts, Community and Events Fundraiser at WUTH Charity, said: “After the restrictions on our fundraising activities over the past twelve months, we’re looking forward to our WUTH Charity Golf Event in September.

"I’m sure the teams taking part will enjoy a good day’s golf at the prestige Cheshire Course at Carden Park, with a great prize for the winners.

"We hope this will provide a great boost to our appeal, to help us make improvements for our youngest patients and their families.”
