COULD you give golden oldie Gandalf his forever home?

The 11-year-old Akita is an Older Age Pooch (OAP) looking for a quiet life, but isn't all about taking it easy.

Despite being a grand old age of, Gandalf - currently a resident at Dogs Trust Merseyside - still enjoys his walks and walks beautifully on the lead, he can often be found playing with his toys and he is prone to the odd bout of giddiness.

Georgina Lowery, manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, says: "Gandalf is a gorgeous, all-round lovely dog who is looking for a quiet home without too much hustle and bustle.

"He enjoys a gentle fuss and a cuddle and is happy to laze away in the garden if his human pals are busy doing something else, but he isn’t keen on being left alone.

"He can live with teenagers aged over 16 and although he is happy to walk with other quiet dogs, he’d prefer to be the only dog in his forever home so he can enjoy all the attention."

Gandalf would like to meet his new family a couple of times before heading home.

If you think you could give Gandalf the forever home he deserves, go to www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming to start the virtual adoption process.

Dogs Trust Merseyside holds Information Days every Sunday.

If you would like to take a tour of the centre, meet members of the team and see the dogs spending time with their canine carers, go to www.dogstrust.org.uk/ourcentres to book a place.
