RESIDENTS aged 18 and above will be able to attend a walk-in Covid vaccination centre this weekend in Chester.

Vicar's Cross United Reformed Church is offering bookable appointments at its site, which can be booked through the National Booking System on the NHS.

However, it will also be offering walk-ins to those aged 18 and above from 4pm-7pm on Saturday and Sunday, June 26-27.

Walk-ins will also be on offer to those aged 40 and above at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall from 8am-6pm on Sunday, June 27.

NHS Cheshire CCG is aiming to offer a first dose of the Covid vaccine to all adults by July 19.

Due to the availability of Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, a wide range of appointment slots are available for people aged 40 and over. Supplies of Pfizer and Moderna have been more limited, but have been steadily arriving into the county this week.

Pop-up clinics have been offering walk-in appointments the past few weeks to those aged 40 or over. They will soon be available for all aged 18 and over by offering Pfizer jabs too.

Cheshire’s Covid-19 Vaccination Programme Lead Tracey Cole said: “Vaccination remains our strongest weapon in the battle against Coronavirus (COVID-19) so please come forward if you are eligible and ensure you get both doses. It is never too late to come forward to be vaccinated.”
