A 33-year-old man has been charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine, cannabis and ketamine following his arrest yesterday (Thursday, June 17).
George Marsh, of Park Road North, Birkenhead, has been charged with Class A and B drug offences after he was arrested of conspiracy to supply.
A search was carried out in an address in Birkenhead together with a search of a container unit, also in Birkenhead, where over £50,000 in cash and a Rolex watch was recovered and seized.
He was remanded into custody to appear at Wirral adult remand court today, Friday, June 18.
The charge comes as part of the Merseyside Police response to Operation Venetic: a national investigation into the use of encrypted mobile devices, commonly referred to as Encrochat.
Wirral community policing Chief Inspector Roger Pegram said: “We will continue with our work because we know the impact that drug supply, its associated criminality and the people responsible for importing it has on the communities of Merseyside.
“We cannot do this without the help of the public and would urge anyone with information on the supply of drugs or individuals involved in serious and organised crime, to please get in touch, either directly through us or through Crimestoppers, completely anonymously on 0800 555 111."
