Men in balaclavas arrived at a house in Wallasey armed with a hammer and a brick and smashed the windows of a house.

The two men stopped outside the house on Wakefield Drive at 8.50pm in a silver Vauxhall Zafira on Sunday, June 13 before damaging the property.

The men then ran off and got back into the car which drove off in the direction of Leasowe Road.

There is no suggestion that anyone was injured.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We are investigating following reports of criminal damage caused to the windows of a house in Wallasey.

“We were contacted at 8.50pm last night, Sunday 13th June, following reports that two males in a silver Vauxhall Zafira had stopped outside a house on Wakefield Drive.

“Both males wearing balaclavas got out of the car.

“One is reported to have thrown a brick through a window and the second is reported to have used a hammer to smash a window.

“The males ran off and got back into the car which then drove off in the direction of Leasowe Road.

“There is no suggestion anyone was injured.

“An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
