Wirral swimmers are set to make a splash this week after the council confirmed that one if its swimming pools will reopen today.

Leisure facilities at Leasowe Recreation Centre are continuing to reopen on a phased basis, with the swimming pool set to welcome customers again from Monday June 14.

The centre’s well-equipped gym will reopen on Monday, June 21, which is also when indoor exercise classes will recommence. Outdoor football and exercise classes are already taking place and will continue.

Swimming sessions are available to book now and can be made five days prior to the session time. Gym and class bookings will be available to book from 9am on Wednesday June 16.

Full details and session timetables can be viewed on the Leasowe Leisure centre webpage: wirralleisure.co.uk/invigor8-centres/leasowe-leisure-centre/

Wirral Council says that cleaning and hygiene at Wirral Invigor8 centres are of the highest standard with gymnasiums, changing areas and equipment cleaned regularly by both staff and customers.

The Oval, Bebington and Woodchurch Leisure Centre remain key sites for the COVID-19 mass vaccination programme so facilities in those centres are still unavailable for leisure customers.

Pre-booking and payment is essential before attending any facility, including Leasowe, whether on a pay and play basis or with an Invigor8 membership.

Invigor8 memberships can be reinstated by calling the central team or by emailing bookingsandinformation@wirral.gov.uk

New memberships can be purchased online at wirralleisure.co.uk/invigor8-memberships

Bookings and queries can be made online or by contacting the central team on 0151 606 2010. Phone lines are open Monday to Thursday 9am to 7pm, Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday to Sunday 9am to 3pm.
