A MUCH-LOVED schoolboy who was always laughing and having fun is being remembered in Winsford.
Cason Hallwood, who had a peanut allergy, died suddenly on Christmas Day from anaphylactic shock.
A plaque with words lovingly chosen by his mum Louise has been placed beside a tree in Wharton Recreation Ground, where he played with friends minutes before taking ill.
The town's landmark Brunner Guildhall will be lit up in orange this weekend, to celebrate Cason's life.
The 12-year-old Winsford Academy pupil had red hair and was known fondly as 'Ginge' by family and friends.
Mum-of-four Louise, 39, said: "It is a great honour, I don't ever want him to be forgotten about.
"His name is very much on people's lips and minds."
Family and friends gathered around what is now referred to as 'Cason's tree' and released more than 50 orange balloons as the plaque was unveiled.

"Cason loved that park," said Louise. "To have that plaque there beneath Cason's tree is amazing.
"His twin brothers Cowen and Corley are 19 tomorrow. They were dreading their birthday and said they didn't want any presents or a party.
"I told them that Cason wouldn't want that. He was the life and soul of the party.
"Now the twins are made up, they think having the lights switched on is a sign from Cason."
The family has been overwhelmed by all the support they have received from the community. More than £15,000 was raised to give him 'a funeral fit for a prince' in a white glass carriage led by white horses.
"I just want to thank the community for all that they have done," said Louise. "Everyone's support and kindness gets me up in the morning and makes me keep fighting every day.
"I am sad, I'm heartbroken, but I carry on for Cason and the boys."
Louise wants to say a special thank you to family friend Hazel Haggart who liaised with the council to arrange the plaque and the illumination.
Winsford mayor Cllr Nathan Pardoe said: "There are no words for the loss that Louise, Corley, Cowen, Caiden and his family and friends have experienced.
"In recognition of Cason and his life, Winsford's Brunner Guildhall will be lit up orange from Saturday evening.
"Those who knew him have said Cason was an amazing young man.
"With the support of Cason's family, I wanted to share the reasons why the Brunner Guildhall will be lit up. The loss of a child is something no parent should ever have to go through, and I hope as a community we can recognise the loss and celebrate Cason's life.
"Cason's brothers have their first birthday without him this weekend, the goodwill from the community has meant the world to them and Cason's family. Thanks to all those who have supported Cason's family and to Winsford Town Council staff for their work on this."
