POLICE have fired out a warning over dangerous drivers after reports of a group of motorists gathering in Bromborough with their vehicles.

Officers say they will be patrolling the area until the early hours of Monday morning in response to the concerns.

Some of the cars have been driven in a "dangerous manner", add police.

Warnings have also been directed at drivers of "modified vehicles", with police warning it could affect insurance policies.

In a statement Merseyside Police said: "If we locate any members of this group or we identify vehicles we believe may be involved, vehicle stop checks and insurance checks will be utilised.

"If you have modifications on your vehicle you must notify your insurance company, failure to do so may invalidate your insurance policy.

"Officers will be proactively checking vehicles and targeting drivers who are using the roads anti-socially."
