A GROUP boys will put their energetic legs to good use on Sunday while raising funds for a Wirral mental health charity.
Cameron (10), Louis (8), Freddie (6), Leo (4) and Oliver (4) are doing a sponsored walk for The Martin Gallier Project on May 16, marking this week's Mental Health Awareness Week.
The Wirral-based charity provides vital support to those considering suicide in the North West, their families and those bereaved by suicide. To date they have delivered over 4,500 life saving suicide interventions.
Speaking with great maturity, Cameron and Louis told the Globe: "The Martin Gallier Project has saved thousands of lives and helps people everyday. We want to raise money to help them save even more lives."
The children have taken it upon themselves, with the support of their proud parents, to walk 5,691 metres (almost 6kms) because 5,691 people died by suicide in 2019. One metre for each life lost.
Jessica Gallier, Chief Executive Officer of the Martin Gallier Project, said: "The boys are on a mission to get others talking about their mental health, whether good or bad. It’s important for us to recognise that we all have both physical and mental health, sometimes good, sometimes poor.
"They are only young so we are very proud of them for setting such a positive example to men everywhere."

The Martin Gallier Project was founded in 2017 and is fiercely dedicated to preventing suicides, breaking down stigmas & supporting families in the North West.
