A BIRKENHEAD beer-maker is celebrating after picking up a string of big wins at an international awards ceremony.
Glen Affric Brewery has won four gold medals, one silver and one bronze at the European Beer Challenge 2021.
Top honours were awarded to pale ale Highland Suntan, IPA Forres Haze, German Pilsener Loch & Load and their American Amber Ale Rutting Stag.
A spokesperson for Glen Affric said: "We’re absolutely chuffed with these results, especially with newcomer, Forres Haze, only joining our core range in January and already picking up a Gold medal for such a prestigious award as the European Beer Challenge shows the dedication we have put into making it an award-winning beer.
"Our six flagship beers now have a total of 21 medals between them, in our versatile core range portfolio. Showcasing that we are truly capable of producing great beer, regardless of style.
"A huge congratulations are in order to our entire production and packaging team for their stellar efforts in producing outstanding beers, consistently year on year!"
The team's speciality chocolate beer, I Can't Believe It's NOT-Ella received a silver medal, while Tart An Typhoon picked up a bronze in the fruit beer category.
Family owned and operated, Glen Affric Brewery started in 2017 and now produce an average of 25,000L per week and employ 20+ full-time team members.
The company has premises on Knox Street in Birkenhead, close to Cammell Laird shipyard.
Their portfolio of beers has won 45 industry awards in total including the recent European success.
