A MEMBER of the public uncovered a suspected unexploded ordnance device at a beach in West Kirby.
Officers were called around 4.30pm today, Sunday, May 2 after the device was found.
The Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team attended, examined the device and have secured the area.
The device, believed to be a mortar ordnance, will be safely removed later this evening, according to police.
