A local duo took to the stage at Eastham Ferry Hotel on Saturday afternoon to perform to pub-goers for the first weekend of eased lockdown restrictions.

Lead singer Chris Locke and guitarist Paul Barker from the band Ragamuffin performed a four-hour set of live music to the fully booked beer garden.

This week we saw the hospitality sector getting back on its feet and at Eastham Ferry Hotel there was no exception with tables fully booked all day as well as a queuing system outside for those willing to wait.

Chris said: “It was a very well organised event, and the staff were great.

“The beer garden was chocker all day with every table taken. It was a great family event with music for all ages.”

Chris tells the Globe that the pub was packed with families and friends eager to catch up as well as those celebrating birthday parties and even a stag do.

He said: “The whole day was brilliant. You could just see how happy everyone was to be out in the fresh air enjoying a pint or some food and the live music only added to it!

“Although it was a bit weird because people couldn’t get up and dance you could still feel the sense of relief and we made the most of it.

“It was a great day.”
