Amsterdam and former Pele frontman Ian Prowse has announced his return with a solo and full bank show in Liverpool this July.

He plays his solo acoustic show on July 23 at the Liverpool Philharmonic before returning the following day for a full band show.

The Merseyside songwriter is a cult figure with music fans with hits such as John Peel favourite ‘Does This Train Stop on Merseyside’ and singalong ‘Fireworks’ track.

Ian said: “Pele, Amsterdam, me, it’s all the same thing, they’re all a vessel for my songs.

“I hit the opening A minor chord of Funeral Pyre by The Jam at my very first gig in 1982, there began my musical journey, I've been hitting every chord through hundreds of shows with the same passion ever since.”

Ian released his latest single Home last December which has nearly 40k listens on Spotify.

The single is part of his latest album The Story of Ian Prowse which hosts 18 of his golden tracks which span over 30 years.

Ian said: “If you could boil the last 30 years and eight official albums down to one word it would have to be conviction.”
