Moreton-based Typhoo Tea have announced a three-year partnership with The Fire Fighters Charity.

Their first joint campaign, Brew with a Crew, will take place through the spring and summer – starting on May 4 to mark International Firefighters Day.

The campaign will raise much-needed funds for the charity, who support the physical and mental health of the UK’s fire services community.

People are encouraged to join loved ones and colleagues in a COVID-secure way, whilst sharing a brew and moment of reflection.

Des Kingsley, CEO at Typhoo Tea, said: “We’re proud to have formed this partnership with The Fire Fighters Charity.

“We all know how important a good brew can be, anytime of the day or night, and this is especially true in the fire service, where a brew plays a key role in supporting the wellbeing of fire services and their families across the country.

“The Brew with a Crew campaign is a great way to kickstart our partnership and we hope crews of all kinds up and down the country will come together virtually, to help us support the incredible work of The Fire Fighters Charity and say thank you to our frontline heroes.”

Those hoping to take part should submit an online registration form on the charity’s website and a fundraising pack will be sent out.

The Fire Fighters Charity has offered specialist and lifelong support to fire fighters across the UK since the Second World War.

The Fire Fighters Charity Corporate, Community and Events Fundraiser, Alan Knell, said: “Tea is pretty much the foundation stone on which the fire service is built, you can’t set foot on a fire station without being offered a brew.

“It also plays a pivotal role in the way fire crews support each other’s mental wellbeing, as they often talk through traumatic incidents over a cup of tea round the mess table.”

Donations can be given digitally by either using and sharing the QR codes in the fundraising pack, creating an online fundraising page, or by texting CREW to 70660 to give £5.
