A group of best friends from Neston is taking on a running Ultra Challenge for prostate cancer this July.

The six - Craig Tierney, Stuart Sadler, Michael Mosedale, Neil Forrest, Robert Tyson and Daniel Griffiths - have been taking part in running challenges to help raise awareness of the disease.

Going by the name Team Nomad, the group will be taking part in the 100km running Ultra Challenge which spans over two days in July across some of the hardest terrain in the Peak District.

Craig said: “We want to raise awareness as during recent years we’ve all lost people to the disease that were close to us.”

“We simply want to give back especially through these difficult times.”

The Ultra Challenge will be Team Nomad’s third race after they completed Hell Up North Half Marathon in Delamere and the Snowdonia Half Marathon.

Craig said: “This is a milestone we are proud of reaching as a fantastic team together.

“This is a charity extremely close to my family after seeing first-hand what damage this cruel disease not only does to a person, but to their family too."

The group, who have all known each other since attending secondary school together, are approaching 40-years-old this year and hope to mark their third race by raising £8,000.

So far, they have managed to raise £6,000 out of their £8,000 target.
